Xiomara A. Sosa

I am an integrative mental healthcare and holistic wellness practitioner. In 2003 I founded my private practice consulting firm that serves all communities. I am  a clinical mental health – forensic counselor, a nonprofit executive and a United States military veteran. As a multicultural counselor, my cultural competency specialty is focused on working with the Hispanic, veteran, and sexual and gender minority (LGBT+) communities. As an integrative mental health therapist I work with individuals, couples, youth, families, family court, groups, patients, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and agencies. My clinical focus is on Depressive Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Trauma and Stressor Related Disorders, and Gender Dysphoria. My theoretical orientation is eclectic therapy, a therapeutic approach that incorporates a variety of therapeutic principles and philosophies in order to create the ideal treatment program to meet the specific needs of the client. My passion is in social change advocacy, and as a social entrepreneur my goal is to promote social policy that protects the wellbeing of all people through public policy/action and community outreach initiatives. As a social scientist my key advocacy issue is combating negative stigma about mental health with evidence-based empirical research data. I am an altruistic humanitarian passionate about global culture and committed to social welfare. I practice a progressive, innovative path to integrative mental healthcare and holistic wellness by combining psychology and mental health evidence-based theoretical orientations. I integratenthe role of mental healthcare and holistic wellness efforts in providing services to all communities. I work with mixed ages and genders,am bilingual (Spanish), and provide services in private consultation, by telephone or electronically.
